Pour le vernissage de l’exposition, j’ai mis en place une installation sonore qui utilisait comme support un élévateur. La nacelle munie de ses géraniums est immédiatement perçue comme un balcon ; elle est l’élément féminin de la sculpture (Juliette). Sur la base de la machine se trouvait une chaîne hi-fi diffusant les suites pour violoncelle de J.S. Bach interprétées par P. Casals.
Le son est l’élément masculin (Roméo). Aussi bien que Roméo, Juliette pouvait, en appuyant sur un bouton, venir chercher son bien aimé et remonter avec lui. L’efficacité contemporaine de cette machine industrielle avait acquis le temps d'une heure une façade romantique.

For the exhibition's opening I setted up a sound installation which had as a stand an elevator. That aerial work platform with its geranuims is immediately recognized as being a balcony; it is the feminin element of the sculpture (Juliet). On the Machine's base was set a hi-fi playing The Cello Suites by J.S. Bach interpreted by P. Casals. The sound is the masculine element (Romeo). As much as Romeo, Juliet could, by pressin a button come and get his lover and go back up with him. The contemporary efficency of this industrial machine had, during an hour long aquired a romantic aspect.
